While visiting around all the castles, I went to a Renaissance show that was supposed to illustrate the history of France during that period, and I must say that I think we have better costumes in Kansas.  Their costumes looked an awful like Simplicity costumes.  To give them credit, they did have to have costumes for well over a thousand performers.  It just made me a little bit prouder of KCRF to know that we beat France in costumes!  I wasn't allowed to take photos at the show, unfortunately, so you'll just have to take my word for it that everything was ill fitting and that the on the queens gown I could not only see sequins but also her hoop lines.  There was a cute little pig though that was the star of the show because he kept getting away from his handlers during the 'freezes'.  He would just prance around while everyone else stopped and once he even crossed the hedges that marked the edge of the stage and came into the audience.  Unfortunately for the actors, after the show everyone was talking about the pig rather than the fireworks or the acting.

So I was just looking at my calander and realized that my departure date for Angers, France is very soon, but then I looked at the weekend after I left and saw that it was the first weekend of faire here.  I'm a little sad that I won't even get to see everyone perform for even just a weekend.  All my friends are already making plans to go visit you lot and take a ton of pictures so that I'll at least get to see faire via internet, so be nice to them and get my friend's boyfriend to enter Mr. Renaissance Romance so I'll have something to laugh about!

34 days to go!  Wish me luck!  Pray that my airplane doesn't crash over the middle of the ocean (I'm terrified of large bodies of water) and that I get through customs safely and with all of my medical supplies!
